Hi everyone.  My name is now Yunomi and I am a 4-year-old, red, female Shiba Inu.  I was found at the shelter at least 3 times by my previous owners for running away so much.  Finally, my family did not come to claim me at the shelter in PA.  It was really crowded so I got to go and stay in a foster home with the shelter for a bit, but I didn’t get along with the resident dog and had to return to the busy shelter.  Thankfully, a foster home opened up at DC SIR.  My foster mom drove to the shelter to pick me up.  I was able to get spayed and have my medical updated before coming to DC SIR.  When my foster mom picked me up, I was still groggy from my spay.  She traded my uncomfortable cone for a onesie suit that covered by belly so I wouldn’t be so freaked out in my new environment.  When I got to my new foster home, there were cats and dogs and other people to play with me.  I cried my first two nights anytime my foster mom left me.  I was so lucky my foster mom slept on the big comfy couch with me.  I snuggled up right at her feet and slept the whole night.  My foster mom says I am tiny so she named me Yunomi, which means teacup in Japanese.  I met my big foster brother Oji.  He is so old and followed me all around the yard the first time to make sure I felt safe.  I am a very sweet girl and my foster family just adores me.  I think I’ve gone to heaven.  I love my raw food and I scarf it down.  I’ve never eaten so well.  I feel safe there and have never tried to escape despite the shelter saying I came to them 3 different times as a stray.  I know I am safe now and get to feel loved.  DC SIR says I am in a pending adoption for my foster home but wanted to introduce myself to you all!
