Touma is an 4 year old, male Shiba Inu. See his Facebook album!

Hello, my name is now Touma (Kanji 東真 “East + Truth” – a new beginning, rising direction, honesty). I’m a 4-year-old Shiba Inu, and I’ve been through a lot recently. My owner loved me very much, but he lost his home and became homeless. He gave me to someone he trusted, but that person was not kind to me. When my owner found out I was being abused, he called the shelter upset, asking them to help me. The shelter stepped in, took me in, and contacted DC SIR to make sure I ended up in safe hands. The shelter staff was very kind. They got me neutered and made sure I was up to date on all my wellness care. Thanks to them and DC SIR, I’m healthy and starting fresh. When my foster mom came to pick me up, I was I didn’t sit down during the ride, but I loved looking out the window and taking it all in. When we got to my foster home, I walked right up the steps and through the door like I belonged. I settled into the kitchen right away. Later, we went on a walk, and I enjoyed all the smells and finally felt like I could relax. I was told that I lived with kids before and did great with them. My foster parents noted I did great with their young son too! I was very playful with their resident Shiba too! We did zoomies around the table and played and played! I am so happy to be in a loving foster home that doesn’t use any force training. I’m a sweet, gentle boy who’s just getting to know his foster home. They’ll share more about my personality soon, but I’m already showing what a good boy I am. Best of all—I’m medically cleared and ready for adoption! If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, maybe I’m the one. Please apply to adopt me at www.dcsir.org/adopt.
