Nick is a 6 month old, male, red Shiba Inu.  See his Facebook album!

Hi everyone, my name is now Nick, named after this holiday season by a Facebook fan. I am a 6-month-old, black and tan male Shiba Inu mix. I was found living in the woods with two other dogs. Animal Control near the PA border thinks we were dumped from a breeding facility. While at the shelter, DC SIR was told we hung out in the lobby with resident cats and other friendly dogs to greet guests. DC SIR worked on getting us to Shiba HQ before the holidays so we can get our forever homes and spend lots of quality time with our families who will never abandon us. When DC SIR volunteers picked us up I got to sit on one of the volunteers lap for the drive to Shiba HQ. Unfortunately, it was such a long and winding ride that I threw up all over the volunteer. When we got to Shiba HQ, I got to run around and I felt so much better. After we met all the other rescues, I was taken in for my bath. The volunteers said I smelled really bad and my bathwater was super dirty! I did really well in my bath and didn’t even mind getting my nails trimmed. I absolutely love people and just want attention and love. I have done well with the resident cat and actually don’t mind him at all. I do chase the kittens when the other dogs do. But when I am alone, I don’t chase them at all. DC SIR thinks I would do great with a loving and active family who want me to be by their side. I am crate trained and haven’t had any accidents. If you think we are a good fit, email adoption@dcsir.org!
