Hello everyone, my name is now Eri, and it means ‘blessing, reason’ in Japanese. I am a 5-year-old, female Shiba Inu. My owners recently had to travel more, so they contacted DC SIR to take me in. I am a happy and friendly Shiba Inu. I tested very well at my assessment with the neutral dog, Katniss and I was so happy to greet the DC SIR volunteers and give them kisses. I walk well on a leash, and I still have a lot of energy to run and play if you will play with me. After a long walk with the volunteers, I headed over to my foster home. I cried a bit in the car at first, but I settled down quickly and just looked out the window. I will be living with two other Shiba Inus. One is a DC SIR alumni, Nikko, and the other Shiba is from the same breeder as my pawrents! What a coincidence, huh? When I arrived at my foster home, I got to explore the yard on my own. Soon I met Nikko, and she was very nice but didn’t want to play with me. Then I met my long-lost shibling, and after a short introduction, we ran and played together in the yard. I love to run in a yard, and I can show you how fast I can run if you let me do my zoomies! I integrated very quickly at my foster home. When we went inside, I found comfort in my dog bed that my owners gave to the volunteers. DC SIR thinks that I have a great personality and that I will be very popular. I will still need my minimum 2-week foster assessment for behavior and medical. I am already up-to-date on core vaccinations, microchipped and spayed so I should be ready for adoption soon! My foster parents plan to take me on adventures with the DC SIR Wellness group, so they will have more information on how I do in a group setting. I really am a great girl, and if you think I would make a great fit with your family, then please tell DC SIR you would like to adopt me. Please follow my story and share my album to help me find my pawfect forever home!
