Hello everyone! My name is now Bailey, which was selected by fans as a St. Patrick’s Day theme because my daughter and I were rescued the day before St. Patrick’s Day. I am a 6.5-year-old red female Shiba Inu. I lived my life on a farm in an outdoor run being bred for puppies. When Shiba sales went down, the place that had me decided to release me and my daughter to Rescue. While I lived outside, I am pretty well socialized to animals and people, including kids. My foster mom drove 8 hours to pick my daughter and me up. I was a little nervous in a car but quickly settled down in my transport crate. My foster mom noticed I have a slight cross eye, but that doesn’t seem to impact my vision. When I arrived at Shiba HQ, I was brought out from the car, to explore the yard while the volunteer went to get my daughter. I was timid at first but when I saw my daughter was free too, we ran and pranced and danced all about the yard. Soon, we met the other rescues at Shiba HQ and did well with everyone. The volunteer saw that we knew how to use the stairs and dog door to the home. Another volunteer brought us a bowl of yummy boiled chicken which we gobbled up with delight. The fun was over shortly when my new foster mom took me into the bathroom for a shower. I wasn’t a fan, but I had years of dirt washed off my body. It took well over an hour of washing, but I was clean! I also had VERY long nails which I let my foster mom trim without issue. It was a warm sunny day so we got to dry off outside and we were doing zoomies everywhere!!! DC SIR needs to schedule our spays. They think I will be able to transition quickly in to being a member of a family where I can be spoiled and live indoors! You can apply to adopt me at www.dcsir.org/adopt
