Adoption status: Adopted!

Hi, my name is now Simba. I am a pure bred male red Shiba Inu, although the years have turned my fur white. There is a legend of a great, brave lion named Simba so I am proud of my new name. When you hear my story, you will know why. I was found wandering in the middle of the highway in Georgia. How I got there, I still don’t know. I remember feeling the vibrations of the road as cars whizzed by me. I remember the stench of oil and rubber as fumes attacked my nostrils. There is very little else I can remember other than being thrown into a car and brought to a place where I was put into a cage. I can’t tell you much more than that. You see, I am deaf and cannot hear you. My eyes are so poor I cannot see you very well. My bones ache and I have pain in my knees and hips. But DCSIR heard about me and could not let me languish in a shelter. They thought that I should be able to know love for the rest of my life. They were willing to take a chance on an old man in the hope that someone out there is willing to open their heart to me. I know I am not young and healthy, but I am kind and gentle and caring. I know I deserve more than being dumped on the streets. I would love to live out my time in the warmth and love of your home, if only you’ll let me.Simba is an elderly Shiba who is good with both dogs and cats. DCSIR will provide him with the best in medical care and nutrition prior to adoption. Please consider donating to Simba’s fund and email adoption@dcsir.org if you are willing to give Simba forever home!
