Hi everyone, my name is now Sachiko. I’m a sesame Shiba Inu, and that’s pretty rare. I’m just a puppy, but I’ve been through a lot in a short time. My first family gave me away through a Craigslist ad as “free to a good home.” While I had some nice people take care of me, I ran away a lot and they just weren’t able to give a spunky Shiba like me the training I needed. So I still need training and vetting before I can go to my forever home. Let me tell you about ME! I personify the typical Shiba Inu. I am aloof and independent and definitely a headstrong girl. I will need to go to a home with Shiba Inu, or other primitive breed, experience. And let me tell you about other dogs. I just don’t like them! How can everything be MINE if other dogs are there to take my stuff??? So, I’d like to be the queen of the home and don’t want to share with no other dog! That also means no dog parks or anything like that. If I see ‘em walking, I tell them I don’t like ‘em real loud. My foster family is going to work on that though. Pffft! I think cats are weird and I yell at them sometimes, otherwise they don’t bother me too much. I’m pretty much house trained, but need to be reminded how to let you know I gotta go in a new home.Sachiko will need be the only dog in a home, and will not be adopted to a home with small children. She will be spayed/microchipped and vetted before she will be available for adoption. Only applicants in the Washington, DC metro area will be considered. E-mail adoption@dcsir.org for more information on how to adopt Sachiko!
