Hi everyone! My name is now Hashiru but you can call me Hashi. Hashiru means “to run” in Japanese, and boy is my new name fitting! Let me tell you my story. I’m a handsome, 4 year old Black and Tan neutered male Shiba Inu and I lived with one family my whole life. I was kept out in the backyard a lot all by myself. I was so bored and lonely that I dug holes in the yard (well, us dogs do love to dig!) but I would escape and run free where I could smell new scents and see new sights and have fun adventures on my own. The last time I ran away, my people found me in the shelter, but instead of signing the paperwork to take me home, they signed me over to the shelter! I was so very scared and alone and didn’t know how to act.My people told the shelter I was great with dogs and kids but that I dug holes and ran away, so I was no good. Didn’t they know I still loved them, but I was just bored? Well, I was really scared. But the nice lady at the shelter knew who to call. See, she helped save Miko and I heard stories about how an old Shiba found a loving and amazing new life. I hope so hard that the people at DCSIR will find a home where I won’t be bored or lonely or ignored. My new life with my new name starts June 29, 2013. I will be available for my perfect forever family after July 12, 2013, but you can fill out an application to be my new pawrents at www.dcsir.org!To learn more, please visit my Facebook Album.
