Hi, my name is Emi and it means blessing with beauty in Japanese! I’m a 11 month old sesame Shiba Inu. I came from a backyard breeder in Northern Virginia. I was lucky to find my way to a home that tried to care for my special needs. You see I am very fearful and shy. It takes a lot for me to trust people. I get real scared when walking on a leash and I see strangers. Lots of things scare me but DC SIR will update you more after my two week assessment. In my last home, I lived with 2 big dogs, children and even a cat and got along great with everyone. Except I played with the kitty like I played with the big dogs, a bit too rough I am told. The last time I played with the kitty his tail was moving around so I grabbed it like a toy and pulled too hard and broke her tail! So I will need to go to a home without any cats. I am not mean, I just don’t know how to play well cats. I’m also tiny but my foster mom doesn’t want to scare me by putting me on the scale just yet.So let me tell you a little more about myself. I am very shy towards people. But if you learn how to approach a fearful dog like me I will take treats from you. I’m a bit tiny and I know how to move swiftly. DC SIR says I’m a bolter. I think that means I can run really fast, especially if something scares me! I hope I can a forever home with people who will have the patience to work through my fear issues. To learn more, please visit my Facebook Album.
